Nothin New

Hola Familia!
Nothing much is going on here, except it's getting colder and I can see I'm going to be a shut-in soon! With the weather in the 40s and 50s, it's hard to want to go out and play, which is all we've been doing lately. The boys have had school, and Cameron is playing soccer, and overall, they are doing great. As for me, I can't breath, sleep, and my back hurts. I'm pretty much ready to deliver if it were up to me! I've always said that pregnancy would be perfect if it was just 8 months instead of 9! We'll give her a few more weeks though. November 1st will be here in no time I'm sure.

You know how sometimes you look at your kids and just can't help but laugh and love them. Well, they were being so cute and so I got out my camera while I was having one of those moments. Aren't they just cute boys?

Rachelle, where's the mirror shot?

So I got a picture of the new hair cut on my phone...but it's about 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch on there! Post on the blog. I thougth it looked really cute! I cut my hair last week too. But I just cut about 3/4 inch off and got some long layers put in. I really like it and I can totally tell a difference, but I'm sure none of you could! I will take a picture of myself in the mirror just for kicks though...no wait, I won't. Whit...you still have long hair, right? I'm not giving into the pressure...not yet anyways. Let me have this baby and maybe when my self-esteem is lacking and I need a change I'll cut it.
Oh, and my trip to Boise was a blast. I highly recommend "Time Out for Women" for all of you if it ever comes anywhere close to you. It's all day on a Saturday and it's just really a great lift. Maybe we should all meet up for Womens Conference in May...if we could all work out babysitting and stuff. It would be a great sisters weekend!
Speaking of getting away...everyone up for CDA next summer? As soon as Southwest flights book through next summer, we need to solidify some dates so we can be checking for specials. I'm pretty sure our friends will have a new boat by then I'm sure they'll let us borrow.

Last thing...Me and my family have flights for New Years to Vegas. We're coming in the Thursday night the 27th (Tom will come in Friday night or Saturday morning) and we'll be there through New Years. So get ready to party harty in Vegas to welcome in 2008!!! Oh, and Tom's birthday is New Years Eve so let's throw a big party...Chuck E Cheese here we come! I don't know where we will be staying, but with so many sibblings in Vegas please don't make us be on the streets!!! Were we going to get family pictures then too? We'd better schedule something...I've got some JC Penny coupons. :)

Grandma Edie's Request

Hey everyone--Grandma Edie emailed me because she really likes the myfamily site. She is willing to pay the renewal fee. So, do you want to continue with the blog format, or go back to MF?

Buddies

Trouble makers! Just about every day Lincoln wants to write Simon a letter. Then he wants us to hand deliver it to his house. They had a sleepover the other night and Lincoln told Rachelle "I want to stay here for 3 days". It is really great having our cousins so close!

What goes around......

COMES AROUND! I am having flashbacks.... Laura Fluckiger, myself, and a jar of vaseline. I was on the phone yesterday trying to put out fires in primary, and the kids were upstairs playing with the gate locked at the top of the stairs. All of a sudden I hear Lincoln say "Mommy, Reagan has the bum medicine". So I run upstairs and Reagan has half a tube of Desitin on her head. The second she sees me, she squirts a little more on her hands, and quickly rubs it on her hair and says "Pretty Mommy. So Pretty!" She often sees me putting pomade in my hair in the morning and now thinks that anything white is something you rub in your hair. I should have known this was coming, b/c the other morning she asked for lotion, and almost put that in her hair. I guess she is a little young to differentiate the difference between bum, hair, and skin!

Runaway Dog

So it all started yesterday when we got back from being away all day.  I noticed that Daisy was nowhere around.  I had Max look in every bedroom twice.  Gregs kids were over so I put them to work, searching as well.  When she didn't turn up in any closets or under any beds, I had them all put there shoes on so we could go door to door.

We went up and down the street across from our house and made it down  our street.  We started to to up the next street, the kids going 2 by 2.  Bond and Simon, Max and MaKenna, Marlyn and Marshall.  While they were covering 3 houses at once, I went to the first house on the next street.  I knocked and a woman said throught the door "who is it?" I replied, "I'm a neighbor from down the street who is looking for a lost dog."  "What does the dog look like" she asked.  I told here and she opened the door.  When I saw Daisy I actually started crying, so happy that we had our dog back.  She was so excited to see all the kids there to see her.  I talked to the lady for a while and long story short, she found her in the morning and called an animal shelter they told her that the bark collar she was wearing was cruel and tortursome to the dog.  To take it off at once, destroy it and to not let the dog go back to the owners, who were obviously mean and abbusive.

Keep in mind that the bark collar she was referring to was a mere $125.  She said she gave it to her sister who was going to drop it off at a shelter where they would destroy it.  I was really happy to have Daisy back but was starting to get very upset about the collar.    First thing this morning I went to the shelter she alluded to.  They knew nothing about it but the guy was really nice.  I recorded my full conversation with the man just in case there was some incriminating evidence I could use.  (Jeff's idea of course)  After returning home I decided I would go down and confront the woman, recording that conversation as well.  Listen to the conversation.  In the end, I got the collar back and didn't have to take her to small claims court.  What a wacko she is!  I am now working on getting the girl fired from the shelter that she did call.  More on that in the future.

Everybody's doing it!

Here is mom's new hair cut and color. It's a little darker--I think it looks great!

A few things...

So I am so ready for a weekend away. This weekend I'm going with some old dental school friends to Boise for "Time Out for Women". It will be a 6-7 hour drive, but with old friends, I think we'll have a blast. A few girls are flying in and meeting us there. I don't know why but my patience has run thin lately. I think it's just been too long since I've been away from my kids, and everyone needs that every once in a while.

In other news: I went into the doctor today and he's going to be gone the whole week of my due date. He suggested he induce me a week early...so probably November 1st this little girl will be here if she doesn't decide to come any earlier. I couldn't get myself to object to an induction since I've been seriously having nightmares for the last few weeks about going into labor and not making it to the hospital in time. Having a date would definately calm my nerves!

Anyone have any new good recipes I must try? I'm ready to cook again, it's finally cooling down a bit. Please post if you do! Thanks.

One more thing. The neighbor boy knocked on our door yesterday. I guess it only took a week for the whole thing to blow over. He can't play at our house, but he can ride bikes outside with the boys if a parent is out there. We've seriously just tried to be so nice and wave and smile since the last "incident" (if you don't know about the incident, refer to my blog...link at the bottom right of this page) and after a few days, they actually started waving back.
So it's a win/win situation for me...no more playing in my house, and my boys still get to bike with their friend next door!

What the heck?

I was wondering why you guys were showing us your new cameras. I was just looking at the pictures scrolling up and down. Reagan had a gun, but Kate and Emily have their cameras. Then I realized the best way to take your own picture is in front of the mirror. The thing that gave it away was the mole on Emily's face which switched to her right cheek:) I like the blob, I mean blog. Speaking of which, do any of you remember Attack of the Blob? Might be a different generation. How about What About Bob? Now that was an instant classic. Speaking of classics, I am going through Napoleon Dynamite withdrawals. Anyone seen Blades of Glory? That's all I have to say for now. Maybe we will post pics of our new home if we ever close.

Day Two

So here's my first day styling my new hair.

Reagan the outdoors woman!

I won't be long until she is out there with her Daddy. Reagan is obsessed with other people's shoes. And look... her hair is still in! That's because she hadn't taken a nap yet.

Buddies

Cute kids! Reagan wouldn't drop the shotgun for the picture. Lincoln always wants to wear his Africa p.js.

Our little artist!

This is a picture that Lincoln drew of the deer that Grandpa Les shot last week. Les shot the deer in the face with his
arrow and that is what you see here.
A deer with an arrow in the face.

Long Hair... Buh-Bye

This is my hair that was cut 5 weeks ago! It is already growing so fast. It is so easy to do now... I LOVE IT.

New Hair

Okay, bad self portrait since the light is low, this picture is taken in the mirror and I couldn't use a flash. But you get the picture.

I thought this picture would be a good one to start the blog off.

Welcome Family!

Hey everyone--this was Kim's idea, and I thought it was a good one! Instead of using the myfamily site, we can all post photos and updates here!
